Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how VISIQ LABS LLC collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards personal information when you visit visiqlabs.com, create an account, or use the VisIQ platform and related services (collectively, the “Services”). By using the Services, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services. In short: you own your data, you control it, and we never train our AI models on it.
Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account & contact information — name, work email address, company, job title, and, if you enable SMS-based two-factor authentication, your mobile phone number.
- Authentication & security data — credentials, multi-factor authentication enrollment (authenticator app, SMS, or backup codes), session and device identifiers, and sign-in activity used to protect your account.
- Usage & platform data — configuration you create in the Services (such as policies, rules, and integration settings), product telemetry, and audit/event logs generated as you operate the platform.
- Technical data — IP address, browser type, operating system, and similar information collected automatically when you interact with the Services.
- Communications — messages you send to us (for example, support requests) and your contact preferences.
How we use information
We use personal information to:
- Provide, operate, secure, and maintain the Services;
- Authenticate users and deliver account-security features, including one-time passcodes for two-factor authentication;
- Respond to your requests and provide customer support;
- Monitor, detect, and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents;
- Improve and develop our products and analyze how the Services are used; and
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.
SMS / text messaging & mobile information
VisIQ offers optional SMS (text message) delivery of one-time verification codes as part of two-factor authentication (2FA). These are transactional, account-security messages — VisIQ does not send marketing or promotional text messages. See our SMS Text Program page for the opt-in screen, sample messages, and program details.
No sharing of mobile information
We do not sell, rent, or share mobile phone numbers, SMS opt-in, or consent information with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text-messaging originator opt-in data and consent are excluded from every category of data sharing described in this Privacy Policy and will not be shared with any third parties. We share your mobile number only with our messaging service provider (for example, Twilio) strictly to transmit the verification codes you request, and as required to operate the service or comply with law.
How you opt in
SMS verification is strictly opt-in. You consent to receive 2FA text messages only when you add and verify a mobile phone number and enable SMS two-factor authentication in your VisIQ account security settings at app.visiqlabs.com. We do not add your number to SMS delivery by default.
Message frequency, rates, and opt-out
- Program: VisIQ account-security verification codes (2FA).
- Message frequency: varies based on your activity — typically one message containing a one-time 6-digit code each time you sign in or perform a sensitive action with SMS verification enabled.
- Message and data rates may apply. Rates are charged by your mobile carrier and are your responsibility.
- Opt-out: reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe from SMS verification at any time, or disable SMS 2FA in your account settings. You may then use an authenticator app or backup codes instead.
- Help: reply HELP for assistance, or email [email protected].
- Carriers are not liable for any delayed or undelivered messages.
Data retention
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Services, then for the period required to meet our legal, accounting, security, and contractual obligations. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.
Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and continuous monitoring. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Residents of California (CCPA/CPRA), the European Economic Area, and the United Kingdom (GDPR) have additional rights, including the right to know what personal information we hold and the right not to receive discriminatory treatment for exercising these rights. To make a request, contact us using the details below. We will verify and respond as required by applicable law.
Children's privacy
The Services are intended for business use and are not directed to individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
International users
VisIQ is operated from the United States. If you access the Services from outside the United States, you understand your information will be processed in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above, and for material changes we will provide reasonable advance notice (for example, by email or an in-product notice) before they take effect. Changes apply going forward only — we will not apply a materially less protective version retroactively to information we already hold. If you don’t agree with a change, you can close your account before it takes effect.
AI features & our no-training commitment
The VisIQ platform uses artificial intelligence (AI) and machine-learning models — both our own and trusted third-party model providers we engage as sub-processors — to deliver core features such as analyzing your security and operational data, detecting risks and policy violations, and generating findings, summaries, and recommendations. To provide these features, the data you and your organization put into the Services (your “Customer Data”) is processed by these AI systems. This processing is a necessary part of delivering the Services you ask for: when you use an AI-powered feature, you are directing us to process the relevant Customer Data through AI for that purpose only. We process your Customer Data to provide, secure, support, and maintain the reliability of the Services for you — and for no other purpose.
We never train our models on your data
We do not train, fine-tune, or improve any AI or machine-learning model on your Customer Data. This is a single, unconditional commitment that applies to every customer and every plan — there is no setting to change, because training on your data is never turned on. We also contractually require the third-party model providers we use to process your Customer Data solely to return results to you, and not to train their models on it.
You own your data. As between you and VisIQ, you and your organization retain all rights to the Customer Data you submit and to the outputs the Services generate for you. You grant us only a limited, non-exclusive license to host, process, transmit, and display that data — and to create the AI outputs you request — solely to provide, maintain, and secure the Services for you. We do not use your Customer Data to build or improve separate products, to train models, or for advertising, and we never sell it.
AI output may be imperfect. AI-generated results — including risk assessments, summaries, classifications, and recommendations — can be incomplete or incorrect and should not be relied on as the sole basis for a decision. You are responsible for reviewing AI output and applying your own judgment before acting on it. The Services are a tool to assist you, not a substitute for professional, legal, or security advice.
